Brown Sugar Pie
Ingredients
- 1-1/2c dark brown sugar
- 6 tbsp flour
- 1-1/2c milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Place sugar and flour in top of double boiler.
- Add milk slowly until smooth.
- Cook until thickened.
- Combine with ????? beaten egg yolks.
- Cook 3 more minutes.
- Remove, add butter and vanilla.
- Pour in baked pie crust.
- Use brown sugar instead of white in 3 beaten egg whites then add 6 tbsp brown sugar.
Notes
Last line of recipe: "Use brown sugar instead of white in 3 beaten egg whites then add 6 tbsp brown sugar" could be a meringue topping given that you are beating the egg whites, otherwise you'd be wasting the 3 egg whites and that doesn't seem like something that would be done. The directions on this one aren't clear, however, so if anyone remembers this getting made please speak up and let us know if my assumptions are true!
